Downtown Parking Garage is located at 220 SE 2nd Avenue in historic downtown Gainesville. We offer convenient parking for folks going to Union Street Station, Sun Center, the Alachua County Courthouse, Alachua County Library, Gainesville City Hall, Hippodrome State Theatre, Bo Diddley Community Plaza and multiple other popular sites and workplaces in the heart of the city. Downtown Parking Garage is also the parking garage of choice for folks staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites around the corner.
Foot access to the upper floors is by stairs or elevator. Most parking spaces on the top floor are covered by the solar photo-voltaic array that we use to power the parking garage (we have a zero-carbon power footprint).
Many of the businesses and restaurants in the area offer free parking by validating your parking ticket.
For folks who would rather, we also offer a surface parking lot at 135 SE 2nd Avenue, one block to the west of Downtown Parking Garage (the Main Street Lot between Main Street and SE 1st Street on 2nd Avenue). That lot is unattended and has an Honor Box pay system. We also have a surface parking lot at the old bank, 230 NW 1st Avenue.
In times of overflow, we have access to parking spots in the Gainesville City Parking Garage at 105 SW 3rd Street.
To first sign up for parking at any of the above locations, you need to visit the Downtown Parking Garage office in the Sun Center: 101 SE 2nd Place, Suite #202 to pay for your first prorated parking term and to pick up the necessary Entry Card or Parking Decal you'll need to access the parking. Then in the future, you can return to this website and keep your term payments up to date.
Downtown Parking Garage- Maximum vehicle height: 7 feet.
Attendant Hours:
- Monday: 8 am to 8 pm
- Tuesday-Wednesday: 8 am to Midnight
- Thursday-Friday: 8 am to 2 am
- Saturday: 5 pm to 2 am
- Hours vary for holidays and special events
Short Term Parking Rates at Downtown Parking Garage:
- $2 - 1st hour or portion thereof
- $1 - Each additional hour or portion thereof
- $5 - After 5 pm & Each weekend day
- $9 - Daily maximum
- $20 - Lost ticket charge

Should you prefer to use the parking lot at 135 SE 2nd Avenue on a per-day basis, the following rules apply:
Parking Rules:
- Pay in advance: $5.00 per day or any part thereof
- Park in numbered spaces only
- Deposit money in the slot with the same number as your chosen parking space
- If money is not in the slot during pay hours your car will be towed at your expense
- Cars with valid decals may park without paying
